Cookie policy

Last updated 2026-08-14

One item is stored by this site and it records your answer to the cookie notice. The rest of this page describes categories that are currently dormant, so that you can see what would happen if they were not.

The stored item

An entry in your browser's local storage holding a single word: accepted or declined. It identifies nobody, never reaches the server, and exists purely so the notice is not shown again on the next page you open.

Categories and their current state

  • Strictly necessary, in use. The consent answer described above, and nothing besides.
  • Measurement, not in use. Page counting would sit behind Accept all if it were ever added, and this page would be updated before it ran.
  • Advertising, not in use and not intended. This site carries no advertising and is not part of any advertising network.

Since the second and third categories are inactive, Reject all and Accept all currently produce an identical experience. Both buttons appear anyway, because a notice offering a choice that does not exist would be misleading.

Notifications

The notification service (OneSignal) loads on every page and keeps a small record of its own in your browser so it knows whether you have been asked yet. A push subscription is only created if you tick the box on a form and then allow notifications in the browser prompt. Declining, or clearing site data, removes it and nothing else on the site changes.

Clearing it

Clearing site data for vernadique.com removes the stored answer, and the notice appears again on your next visit.

  • Chrome. Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies and site data, See all site data and permissions.
  • Safari on iPhone or iPad. Settings, Safari, Advanced, Website Data.
  • Safari on a Mac. Safari, Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data.
  • Firefox. Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data, Manage Data.
  • Edge. Settings, Cookies and site permissions, Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Private and incognito windows discard it automatically on closing, which is why the notice always appears there.

Anyone else setting cookies

Not from this site. The delivery network in front of it may set a technical cookie of its own for security while serving a page, described in the privacy policy. Store listings opened from a link here are governed by Google's or Apple's practices instead.

Browser signals

Because nothing requiring consent runs before consent is given, a Do Not Track header or a global privacy control signal already matches the default behaviour of this site. If measurement is ever added, such a signal will be honoured as a refusal without a further prompt.
